Happy Haikuesday everybody!
I’m going to jump right on into the good stuff today! This first haiku was written by Patrick Rahall and the artwork was created by me.
Giant
‘Twas gargantuan;
It ate me in just one bite.
I’ll digest slowly.
This next haiku was submitted by Nano Horror, the graphic was also made by myself:

First snow falls gently:
Antithesis to force of
The blade it clings to.

If you would be interested in having your 2 Sentence Story or Horror Haiku featured, then leave me a comment or #HorrorHaikuesday on twitter.
Have a good one!
The first image made me chuckle. I can just imagine the knight’s muffled voice: “Well this is bullshit.”
You spoil me by illustrating so many of my Nano Horror haikus. I very much like what you do with them. I find that horror is very much about contrast – between the familiar and the arcane, or the threatening and the safe – and your imagery really draws the visual element of that out of my words. The abstract mirror effect of this one is a prime example. Familiar bare trees become templates for the flow of blood.
You must be a lot of fun to collaborate with.

lol, I almost added a thought bubble on that knight saying something along those lines. 🙂
And, honestly, I feel equally spoiled by you writing a new #horrorhaikuesday poem every week. I always look forward to it. You have a particularly vivid way with words, which in turn really inspire me.
any time you’d like to collaborate on something, I’m game!

Yeah, but a weekly haiku only requires a moment of inspiration and a minute of wordsmithing. Your art is often quite elaborate. Even if I had any artistic talent, I find it hard to imagine that I would have the time and energy to keep that kind of thing coming every Tuesday.

Well, visuals to me are often easier than words. Words, particularly thoughtfully crafted ones, I really have to give my full focus to too.
Isn’t it cool how different minds create?
