hands shake and slip as the strand that tethers her bruised heart to the Tempest's core finally snaps and her reality shatters into a torrent of glimmering hopes now revealed as lies the spell disintegrates and she tumbles spiraling out of control and in her decent through the chaos she finally catches her breath she's free-falling into a new world where she does not have to bend to his swirling whims. -Jeanette Andromeda 2/10/22
What is an Etheree?
Today’s poem is my take on an etheree formatted poem. But what the heck is an etheree?
An etheree is a traditional poetry from that consists of ten lines of one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and finally ten syllables. An etheree can also be reversed and written as ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, then one syllable.You/Poet by Rayna Hutchinson & Samuel Blake
I found some great examples of etheree poems on Shadow Poetry along with a lot of other fantastic resources for poets to explore. I also found a clear breakdown of some variations of etheree poems on Poetry Magnum Opus that seem like they’d be fun to try out.
